Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
About Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
So, who’s Russell? And what makes Russell’s Reserve special? Well, the story begins at Wild Turkey Distilling in tiny Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. You might know them for their excellent 101 proof rye or bourbon. It’s a Kentucky institution — bottled since 1942.
In 1954, they hired a young distiller by the name of Jimmy Russell. Sixty-nine years later, you’ll still find Jimmy hustling around the Lawrenceburg distillery, overseeing production of Wild Turkey and his namesake — Russell’s Reserve!
About to enter his eighth decade of bourbon-making, Jimmy is world famous in the industry. He’s a Kentucky Colonel. He’s inducted into the Bourbon Hall of Fame. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell even entered his name into the Congressional Record to celebrate him for posterity.
And, as you’d expect, the product on which Jimmy has put his name and reputation does not fall short. Widely considered by many to be one of the best 10 Year Bourbons on the market, Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Bourbon is oft loved and universally respected. Sippers note vanilla, cinnamon, and butter on the nose with well balanced complexity including leather and chocolate on the palate.
Most importantly, it’s a great bourbon for bourbon-forward cocktails and cocktailers who can appreciate the difference a fine bourbon brings to the party. Christine Wiseman selected it as the recommended spirit to pair with Shaker & Spoon’s Bring on the Bourbon Box.

“Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Bourbon all the way!” says Christine Wiseman. “I love this bourbon because of its balance of rye and corn mash. It can hold its own in any cocktail, but my favorite is in a stirred cocktail, so that you can taste all the nuances of this delicious bourbon!”
