Backsberg John Martin Red 2018
About the Wine
Highly concentrated, intensely flavoured grapes from each of the four Bordeaux varietals were hand selected. After six months of individual maturation, careful consideration was taken to ensure the ideal blend. Co-maturation ensued for a further 18 months in 30% new as well second and third fill French oak barrels.
Stewed plum, cigar box, musk and honey on the nose followed by concentrated flavours of black forest berries, cedar and vanilla on the palate. This wine is a true all-rounder – just like John.
